[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The MSEE URA held their Annual Technical Review (ATR) in person on Wednesday, June 22nd<\/sup> through Friday, June 24th<\/sup> at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus.\u00a0 Our sponsor, DTRA, uses the ATR to review the progress and results of our alliance from the past year.\u00a0\u00a0 The review was attended in person by over 90 individuals from academia, industry, DoD\/National Labs, and the federal government, with another 20 individuals attending virtually.<\/p>\n

The three-day review consisted of opening remarks from Col. Cory Lane, DTRA\u2019s Deputy Chief of the Enabling Capabilities Department, and Andrew Douglas, JHU\u2019s Executive Vice Dean of the Whiting School of Engineering; along with 41 technical updates presented by PIs, research scientists, and postdocs; and two poster sessions consisting of 56 unique posters highlighting the research efforts of MSEE\u2019s graduate students, postdocs, scientists\/technicians, and PIs.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the event was a banquet dinner held on Thursday evening.\u00a0 The banquet featured a plenary talk from Dr. Patricia McDaniel, the Army\u2019s Senior Research Scientist for Chemistry at the U.S Army Combat Capability Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC).\u00a0 Dr. McDaniel discussed the past and ongoing efforts of DEVCOM CBC and the overlap those efforts share with DTRA\u2019s and MSEE\u2019s missions.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the banquet, MSEE\u2019s Director, Tim Weihs, announced the four winners of the best posters from our two-day poster session:\u00a0 Ronald Agyei \u2013 postdoc, Milad Alemohammad \u2013 postdoc, Austin Butler \u2013 grad student, and Sophie Parsons \u2013 grad student.\u00a0 Congratulations to our four winners!<\/p>\n
