CMEDE helped build the basic science needed to protect those who protect us.



The Center for Materials in Extreme Dynamic Environments was a multi-institutional, collaborative research center located within the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Existing from 2012-2022 and funded by the U.S. Army, CMEDE brought together academia, government, and industry to advance the state of the art for materials in extreme dynamic environments by using a materials-by-design process.
