The CMEDE Team

The MEDE Collaborative Research Alliance (CRA) is composed of a consortium of university and research partners and the Army Research Laboratory. The MEDE CRA is governed both by the Consortium Management Committee (CMC) and the MEDE Science Advisory Board. The CMC is composed of a senior representative from the four major consortium partners and the ARL Cooperative Agreement Manager. The MEDE Science Advisory Board provides important scientific insight, oversight and expertise, and reports to the CMEDE Director.

  • LEADERSHIP

CMEDE is led by the Consortium Management Committee (CMC), consisting of K.T. Ramesh (JHU), John Beatty (ARL), Kaushik Bhattacharya (Caltech), John 'Jack' Gillespie (University of Delaware), and Richard Haber (Rutgers). Their passion and vision helps CMEDE operate as one of the most respected centers of its kind.

  • FACULTY

The CMEDE faculty’s work spans multiple universities, disciplines, schools, and departments. Our faculty members’ research has had a significant impact on the advanced materials industry, defense applications, manufacturing, space research and more.

  • Science Advisory Board

In 2014, the CMEDE Science Advisory Board was established to help provide scientific insight, oversight and expertise to the CMEDE Consortium.

From the Desk of K.T. Ramesh, Director

We teach people how to think about extreme environments using leading edge science and sophisticated teams. Collaborations are the key: extreme events exercise every possible mode of response, and so we bring together many ways of thinking.
