University of Oxford Senior Research Fellowship in Impact Engineering

We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Fellow to join the Impact Engineering Team of the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering Group, within the Department of Engineering Science based in the Impact Engineering Laboratory located at the University of Oxford Begbroke Science Park. This post is fixed-term for 5 years.

You will be responsible for the development and coordination of research projects in the application of micromechanical characterisation and multi-scale modelling of magnesium alloys, as well as offering supervision to postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers. This will involve monitoring budgets, developing funding proposals, conducting teaching, writing research articles and presenting at conferences and at meetings with industrial sponsors.

You should possess a doctorate in a field relevant to the position, have a proven research record with good research potential in the field of impact mechanics and have the ability to secure research funding in this exciting field. You should also have an aptitude for teaching as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
