You are cordially invited to the opening reception of Explorations of the Invisible Domain to share Christopher Sloan’s vision of regions far beyond the realm of human vision.
Using Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI) research projects as a starting point, Sloan aesthetically probed the nature of atoms and molecules in specific situations at extremely small scales. The result is a series of haunting and surreal landscapes that allow visitors to journey vicariously into this otherwise invisible territory.
The Extreme Arts Program is a collaboration between the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute. The program provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between the arts and the sciences.
