As a welcome event for our new grad students and postdocs, the goal for HEMI Boot Camp is for incoming grad students and postdocs introductory knowledge to some key resources and general skills needed in academic life.
Courses will be held in person in Malone Hall, Room G33/35, a virtual option will be available for some courses.
This Introduction course led by, Prof. KT Ramesh (JHU) and Prof. Lori Graham-Brady (JHU), will cover topics such as:
- Science and Engineering
- Working with your advisor
- Choosing research directions
- Ethics of research
- Literature reviews
- Mind mapping
- Writing papers
- Time management
- Work/life balance
- Communication
- Making technical presentations
