HEMI/Sandia Workshop on Materials under Extreme Conditions

The HEMI/Sandia Workshop focused on materials subjected to extreme conditions will feature key speakers from both Sandia National Laboratories and the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute and is open to HEMI Fellows, graduate students, and postdocs as well as all HEMI affiliates.

Topics under discussion will include materials and structures under dynamic loading, multiscale materials modeling and design, additive manufacturing, diagnostics for extreme environments, and energetics research, all using both experimental and computational approaches.

Beyond the scientific and technical discussions, the objectives include networking between the university and the national laboratories, opening lines of communication, developing opportunities for collaboration, and discussing potential career opportunities in the national laboratories.
