We are pleased to announce the creation of a new series within the HEMI/MICA Extreme Arts Program. The Extreme Arts Workshops are a series of art and design workshops geared towards the non-artist and taught by Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) faculty over the 2017-18 academic year. The goal is to foster cross-disciplinary thinking and collaboration through hands-on demonstrations.

The first workshop is this Friday, September 29th from 1 to 3PM in Malone G33/35. Color in Word and Deed will be hosted by Susie Brandt and is an exploration of color’s indiscretions.  Participants in this two-hour, hands-on workshop will experience color’s slippery character through organizational challenges and direct observation.  Color histories and glue techniques will be covered.

The workshops are free and open to Johns Hopkins University undergraduate students. They are made possible by an Arts Innovation faculty grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
