Congratulations to HEMI’s Senior Administrative Coordinator Bess Bieluczyk for her acceptance to present at this year’s Society of Engineering Science (SES) Technical Meeting! Bieluczyk will speak on the HEMI/MICA Extreme Arts program as part of Engineering Art symposium within the Frontiers in Engineering Science track. According to the meeting’s website the focus of this symposium is, “to launch a unique forum for establishing interactions between scientists, artists and educators to exchange ideas and initiate new collaborations.”

The HEMI/MICA Extreme Arts Program is an initiative that brings faculty and students from both institutions together to explore unique perspectives on extreme events.  The program aims to encourage collaboration among artists and researchers to examine data, interpret outcomes, and translate results from extreme events in new ways. It is our hope that this dialog will create a stronger community through a shared sense of curiosity and exploration.
