Each year, the Whiting School of Engineering gathers together to honor staff members who have demonstrate outstanding achievement or innovation and contribute to their departmental/center/institute, WSE, or JHU, beyond the scope of their position. This year, thirty-six staff members were nominated for one of two awards – the Rookie of the Year Award or a Staff Excellence Award.

Three of these nominees received awards, including Bess Bieluczyk, Senior Administrative Coordinator for the HEMI! Bess received a Staff Excellence Award as distinguished recognition of her hard work, devotion, and commitment to excellence. She handles the coordination of HEMI’s Academic Programs as well as coordinates the annual Mach Conference. Her calm demeanor and poise allow her to take on the most challenging projects and execute them flawlessly.

This is the second year a HEMI staff member has received the award. Communication Specialist Jessica Ader was honored in 2016.
