We are pleased to welcome Lisa Eklund to the HEMI team as our Grants and Contracts Manager! Lisa comes to us from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where she served as a Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst. Having earned her degree in Applied Mathematics – Computer Science from Brown University, Lisa has worked in administrative positions at MIT, Brown, and JHU, as well as a few engagements in private industry.
Lisa will oversee the finance team to manage both MEDE and non-MEDE activities related to HEMI and will work with HEMI Fellows on building and managing complex international research portfolios. She will provide dedicated professional-level sponsored funds management, working with HEMI Fellows from pre-award to post-award. This includes, but is not limited to: proposal preparation, budget development, account projections and reconciliations, salary allocations, invoicing, reporting, compliance, close outs, and subrecipient monitoring.
