HEMI Fellow Sung Hoon Kang Selected for 2020 Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship

Congratulations to HEMI Fellow Professor Sung Hoon Kang, who was selected as a fellow for the 2020 Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program at AFRL-Materials and Manufacturing.

The U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program offers hands-on exposure to Air Force research challenges through 8- to 12-week research residencies at participating Air Force research facilities for full-time science, mathematics, and engineering faculty at U.S. colleges and universities. As a participant of the program, Kang will spend eight weeks at the Air Force Research Lab in Dayton, Ohio this summer.

Kang is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is known for using bio-inspired solutions to address challenges in synthetic materials and mechanical systems with applications in protection, healthcare, and energy.
