Biography

Dr. David Alexander Chin received his B.A. degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2017 and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Rochester in 2023. He is currently an Assistant Scientist in the High-Energy-Density Physics and Pulsed Laser Effects groups at the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics. His thesis work focused on using x-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy to characterize the behavior of iron oxides at planetary core conditions.
