Congratulations to HEMI faculty member Evan Ma who has been selected by the Materials Research Society (MRS) as an MRS Fellow. Ma  is a professor of Materials Science and Engineering Department.

The title of MRS Fellow honors those society members who are notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research. The title is given to no more than one in 500 members in any year.

Ma was selected for his contributions to the advancement of metastable alloys, in particular, the foundational understanding of atomic-level structure and structure-property relations in metallic glasses, and the deformation behavior of nanostructured metals and alloys. He will be honored at the MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco in April.
