Robinson Weekly Update

Jun 30, 2016 | No Comments | By Andrew Robinson

1.) Processing Data from DCS

  • Visual Displacement data is worse in quality than data from Malone so the code is being rewritten to properly track displacements
  • Overall, 6 tests out of 24 tests were completely successful with comprehensive, quality data
    • 3 from 1.5mm x 10mm single crystal quartz
    • 3 from 1.0mm x 10mm single crystal quartz
  • Since only 6 tests were successful, automation will not be the sole focus of the code rewriting as was the case with the past processing method
    • Currently, images are being corrected manually (still likely shorter than trying to write code to be more automated) so data processing might take up to a week longer than previously thought
