In Fall of 2022, members of the MSEE community including PIs, postdocs, DTRA, and GCAP partners visited the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC) in Edgewood, MD to participate in technical discussions and tour DEVCOM CBC’s facilities. The visit was attended by multiple CBC researchers; the US Army’s Senior Research Scientist for Chemistry, Dr. Patricia McDaniel; and CBC’s Director of Research and Technology, Dr. Frederick Cox.

One of CBC’s researchers, Ms. Amee Polk, is pursuing her Doctorate of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. While working towards her degree, Amee is working closely with the MSEE community, developing and characterizing energetic materials for agent defeat within the Weihs group.

These visits strengthen MSEE’s collaboration with DEVCOM CBC and will pave the way for future joint research efforts.
